S has been wanting to go to Iceland for many years, and after hearing friends and family rave about the scenery for so long, we finally booked a trip. We’ll be traveling with cousin C and his family. We’d invited cousin J and sister D (and her family), but they weren’t able to go. So, it’s just our two groups!
H and I woke up at 5am this morning to start to adjust to a new time zone. The three of us managed to be packed and ready and out the door in time to meet the Lyft driver, who shuttled us to ONT airport for our flight. We’re flying business class for this trip out of consideration for S’s back, which means that the first leg of our trip, an Alaska Air flight to SEA, was in first class. While we were at the airport, we facetimed with nephew R and his mama. Then, off to SEA!
Safe arrival in SEA, and we got to the gate for the flight to KEF with about 15 minutes until boarding. We grabbed a quick snack in the lounge and then boarded the plane. Over the north pole and 7 hours until we arrive!
